Tortuous twerps
Siblings are known for being completely evil to one another. I didn't realize how early this started. It amazes me how much the nieces tease each other. They know they are not supposed to and get redirected when they get caught, but they are getting sneaky and doing it when the adults step away. Some examples:
Oatmeal is unsure about human skeletons. She's seen them in dioramas in her dad's school. She'll look at them, but doesn't really like to. I have a Catrina statue in my living room. ReeRee knows Oatmeal doesn't love it, so she'll say things like, "Oatmeal, look at me touching the skeleton."
For some reason ReeRee has never liked the person wearing the shark costume that roams the MOA to advertise Underwater Adventures. She no longer has an aversion to other large stuffed costumes, but she doesn't like the shark. Oatmeal knows this so she says things like, "ReeRee, let's go hug sharky."
Schmugly is still pretty shy and doesn't always want to go to her one day of daycare each week. Yesterday, she was having a hard time being away from Mommy. What does Oatmeal do? She says things like, "Schmugly, I miss mama; do you miss mama?" The daycare provider asked her to stop and when she wouldn't, she had to eat lunch by herself. This is a perfect punishment for Oatmeal since she doesn't like being alone. Wait until her sisters realize that.
Fascinating! That last example is pretty heartbreaking! Torturing the baby?! Harsh!
And unrelated: a big huge THANK YOU for the surprise sweets in the mail. Made my whole week! :)

Wow. That's brutal stuff. I'll have to watch and see if my two do anything like that to each other! (Getting Big Sister to read the same book over and over isn't torture, is it?)

I think it runs in the family. My brothers and I were terrible to each other.
