There's gonna be a floody, floody...Get those children out of the muddy, muddy
Have you been paying attention to the flooding in southern Wisconsin? My brother's town is half flooded. Lake Delton is gone (Have you ever been to the Wisconsin Dells? Then you've been near Lake Delton. Tommy Bartlett's water show is on Lake Delton. Baraboo and Devil's Lake are also suffering.) Fortunately for him, his half the town is further away from the river and isn't experiencing flooding. However, there is devastation surrounding him. Lots of roads are closed/flooded. They have no telephone, Internet, or cable television. The school year is over for the kids, but the faculty were asked to report this morning. He stayed until the water was lapping at the door. If the water continues to rise, his choir room will be flooded. Since the Lake Delton dam semi-collapsed, they are worried about another one going down. This second dam would bring greater devastation to his town.
I've been half scouring the web for pictures/videos. I'm actually surprised at how little information is out there. But here are some links.
The Wisconsin State Journal out of Madison is doing the best job covering the ongoing problems. This article has been constantly updated throughout the day and seems to be the place to go for updated information. The attached pictures aren't great. The local paper websites suck. They don't even update them during the day.
This blog has been updated a few times and also contains an amazing video of a big house floating away. That house was on Lake Delton and flowed down the Wisconsin River. (I embedded the video below).
Patsy posted some good pictures of the Reedsburg flooding on her blog.
